“Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
– Martin Luther King, Jr.
Join the Friends of the West Florida Library today!
Founded in 1973, the Friends is a 501(c)3 organization that has supported Escambia County’s public libraries for over 50 years by raising funds to help the libraries meet their goals and by advocating for library issues. The Friends organization does not have any paid staff; we are a 100% volunteer organization with a working board. Our volunteers and board members work thousands of hours each year because of their commitment to literacy and dedication to our community. Won’t you join us?
The Friends regard the library as an impartial and reliable information center that is a vital component in the education of both children and adults. We believe the library is a valuable community asset that provides free library programs and services to some of Escambia County’s most under-served groups.
When you become a member of the Friends, you join hundreds of generous and compassionate people who believe in books and the power of reading. Your contribution has the power to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and adults in our community.
