Friends of the West Florida Public Library Fall Big Book Sale
Pensacola, FL — The Friends of the West Florida Public Library’s are already preparing for their 2025 Fall Big Book Sale!
The Fall Big Book Sale will be a three-day sale offering books and multimedia. It is scheduled for Friday, September 26, from 3:00 – 7:00 pm. Saturday, September 27, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 28, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
The Sale will be held in the Downtown Library, located at 239 N. Spring Street, Pensacola, FL 32502.
Friends’ Tote Bags: Reusable shopping bags, sturdy enough to take grocery shopping are available for purchase for $5.00 in the stores in the Spring Street and Tryon libraries as well as at our Big Book Sales. They make great gift bags!
Admission: On Friday, admission is $5.00 for guests and Free for Friends’ members. Admission on Saturday is free for everyone and prices are reduced. On Sunday, admission is free for everyone and books are sold by the bag for $7.00 a bag.
We hope to see you at our next Big Book Sale planned for September 26, 27 and 28.
Cash or Credit Cards accepted.
VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers are needed for Thursday’s set-up, during the 3-day Sale and to help us pack-up and clean-up when the Sale ends on Sunday afternoon.

The Friends’ next Big Book Sale will be held the last weekend in September. So, if you need a book for your summer reading, or for a gift, stop by one of the Friends’ Book Stores! They are in the Downtown Branch on Spring Street, the Tryon Branch and the Bellview Branch.

Chilly weather means it is a great time to break out a sweater, grab a hot drink, get cozy and read! Team up and join a book club! Start a new series or get caught up on an old favorite! Check out new places in a travel book and plan your next vacation. Maybe, you would like a few DVDs to pop in and enjoy with some popcorn!
Come by the Friends of the West Florida Public Library’s Winter Book Sale where for a few dollars, you can start a new literary adventure! Books will be sorted by genre to make it easier to find your favorites or a new treasure
SPRING BREAK IS COMING! If you have children, our bookstores and book sales are a great way to let them pick out a few books to explore and own! We even have some board books for the youngest “readers” in your family, so they can enjoy their books while you read yours!

Volunteers Needed!
Jan. 22nd – Tables are set up in the afternoon.
Jan. 23rd – Pallets of books are delivered to the library and brought inside by members, the Friends’ warehouse volunteer staff and additional volunteers to be set up by genre for the sale.
Jan. 23rd – Sale Opens at 3:00 PM, closes at 7:00 PM Volunteers work as cashiers and table stockers.
Jan 24th – Volunteers report before 9:00 am and work in shifts until closing at 5:00 pm.
Jan 25th – Volunteer shifts start at 9:00 and run till we close at 3:00 p.m. THEN volunteers and members pack-up and clean-up the library’s community room and halls used during the sale.

Friends’ Board Meetings are held the second Monday of the month (unless there is a holiday on that date causing the library to be closed) at 12:00 PM in a conference room in the Pensacola Library, on N. ANNUAL MEMBERS' MEETING in 2025

Additional 2025 Event – Annual Meeting
The Friends of the West Florida Public Library hold an Annual Meeting in the Fall to report the annual accomplishments to the general membership. Topics cover a financial report of money raised in the sales and the stores, capital improvements to the Friends’ warehouse, and the Library Director gives a report on the library’s year. The new slate of officers is voted on and the Friends make a financial presentation to the Library Director.
